Cleaning image

While making a stamp yesterday I used a photocopy of an image and
using the acetone method transferred it to my Speedball rubber. The
image didn't come out clearly enough so I attempted to remove it
using windex, then acetone, and then soap and then a variety of
products. The image won't budge - any ideas?

Can you sand it off with some fine grit sandpaper? Or just use the other side?

Instead of trying to remove the stamp, can you just cover the
image with a pink pen and then apply a new image over that? It
might save you from destroying the rubber compound if you just
kind of paint over the first image.

Thanks for the many suggestions on saving my rubber compound. All this rain
has given me a chance to make and plant my first stamps/boxes!

Bring on the sun!!

I'm still new at this, but if the material you are using is of the
eraser persuasion and not lino, then you might be able to clean it by
rubbing the image off with your thumb or, rubbing the entire flat side
of the eraser on paper.
